Elmo Obsession
I am convinced that Sesame Street must be able to brainwash small children. How else can you explain the overall appeal of Elmo? It seems like every kid goes through an Elmo stage at some point. Right now Jack is really into Elmo. If he sees anything with Elmo on it he gets excited. At Walmart the other day he got excited over a little girls swimsuit (no, he's not a cross dresser) that had Elmo plastered across the front. He thought it was hilarious. Only Elmo has the power to make swim wear funny.

Stop & Smell The Fake Flowers

Jack likes these flower arrangements, he really likes to pick the flowers out of the arrangements. It so cute when he hands you a flower that he picked for you that it makes it hard to get mad. We are working on not touching things that aren't ours of course, but until we learn not to touch the flowers it's so unbelievably adorable.

He's a Natural
I took this video last week and still can't believe it. For Easter we gave Jack two giant plastic golf clubs and he's been carrying them around ever since. Last week he did something that I think is amazing. He started using the golf club to hit his ball around, all on his own with no coaching. I think that's pretty smart for a 13 month old to figure out. I'm not saying he's the next Einstein, but maybe the next Tiger Woods?
Hosed
This is just a short video of Jack discovering the water hose. Water comes out of there, amazing isn't it?

Lockhart State Park
Today we took Jack to the Lockhart State Park for a picnic. He had his favorite, beans from TacoBell of course. The park is really pretty. It has a nice playscape with several slides, five I think. It also has a "rock" climbing wall. There is a pretty waterfall that is great for taking pictures and there is a nice scenic overlook at the pavilion. The hiking trails look good to, but my Mom wasn't up to it. To be honest I wasn't either. I forgot the hiking backpack for Jack and I wasn't about to schlepp him around the trails. Jack had a really good time, we let him run around at the playscape and all over the grassy areas.

Zilker Botanical Garden
We took Jack over to Zilker Botanical Gardens yesterday and he had a blast. The flowers are amazing right now. We let him walk around and we took him to look at the fish. He got a big kick out of the fish. We took plenty of pictures and I think we got a few really good ones. If you haven't made it over to the botanical gardens yet this year, or have never been you should really check it out. This is one of the best times of the year to go.

Barrel of Monkeys
My Mom was brave and decided to take all the kids and me to the zoo. So we loaded up the car and headed out. They got to see all the animals, but the monkeys were especially a favorite. We took a break from walking around to eat some lunch and take a ride on the train. By the time we got them back in the car they were all pooped out, and before long they were all passed out.

Spinning & Dancing
This is a short clip of Jack's new talent, spinning. There is also a little bit of his groovy dance moves. He is really into spinning right now since it's a cool new thing. He'll spin, then fall on his bum, then laugh, then do it all over again. He also likes to dance. He has a toy that plays "Do you know the muffin man", it is his favorite jam to get down to.

Hey Girlfriend
Jack and Alexis sitting in a tree..... Just kidding. Alexis is almost related to Jack, she is Jack's second cousins niece. If that makes any sense. They were born about a week apart. And since they share some of the same family we get to see her at family functions. It's always fun to watch them interact. Aren't they adorable together?

Hide-n-go-seek
Finally!!!!!!!

Well, Jack has made it to the one year mark and the pediatrician says it's time to get rid of the bottle. The thing is that he just now decided he could hold it for himself. I guess we'll have to start thinking about weaning him off the "baba", but I honestly don't see him getting rid of it anytime soon.
